A Message of Solidarity from Thrive Coaching & Consulting

First, we would like to respectfully acknowledge that Thrive Coaching & Consulting’s home base is being held on the unseeded territory and traditional lands of the Sinixt, the Sylix, the Ktunaxa and the Secwepemc people.

We also have clients across Canada, the United States and International, so we would also like to acknowledge the lands in which our clients reside.

The events over the last few weeks have been incredibly transformative for our team here at Thrive. We have taken a lot of time to reflect, learn and do the deep work that is necessary to truly understand white privilege and the systematic oppression that faces people of color, Indigenous people and other underrepresented communities. We are committed to not only continuing our growth and learning in this area, but to be leaders of change.

This is a time of rising and a time for us to be compassionately listening.

If you are here looking at whether or not I’m a great fit for you in your life and/or organization, it would be good for you to know what my views are and what our values are as an organization:

  1. I created this organization to be one that stands for unity, cultural connection, diversity, inclusion and acceptance.

  2. I stand for Black Lives Matter, Indigenious Lives Matter, People of Color Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ Lives Matter, Human Lives Matter.

  3. I challenge people and organizations to be their best (without compromise).

  4. I do not tolerate hate in any form.  I don’t care about losing followers or customers who would rather argue white privilege, protect their beliefs that cause others harm, or who are connected to any human hurting other humans.

  5. I believe that business should operate with the value of their people being their greatest asset.  I (and my team) will not work with organizations and people who lead their people by fear and other harmful psychological methods of “managing their people”.  I (we) will help people/organizations rise to their greatest potential, so long as they are committed to doing the necessary work to get there.

  6. I’m committed to help bridge the wage gap between the BIPOC and to create opportunities equally for all.

  7. Any experts and contractors that are connected to my team are hired with the same value base and commitment to help make changes beyond what we have learned as being white privileged women.

  8. I commit to being open, to constantly educating myself and my team, to correct myself and make the necessary changes if I get it wrong along the way.  We will be role-models for other organizations to follow.

Here is our commitment to you, moving forward as we scale:

  1. Train and hold our internal team to actively uphold and stand firm behind our values.

  2. As we scale and grow, we will ensure that we are building a diverse team.  We will ensure that our hiring practices will recognize bias and increase the number of Black people, People of Color, Indiginous and LGBTQ+ on our team.

  3. We will actively remove people from our Facebook communities who participate in racist behavior and dialogue.

  4. We will use our platform (The Change by Choice Show - Podcast, courses, etc.) to feature, elevate and promote more BIPOC and LGBTQ+ experts, authors and creatives.

  5. We are in the process of choosing a non-profit(s) to connect into our company.  As we make these choices, we will update this commitment letter with the commitment to helping the BIPOC and linking it to entrepreneurial, financial and educational causes.

Sincerely and with great love,
